Official Records And Custody Contacts

The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office publishes two addresses for different purposes. Its public office address comes from the sheriff’s home page, while its records-request form names a separate custodian address. Use the source-specific address instead of treating them as interchangeable.

EPSO Records Custodian

Request-form address: 415 W. Cotton Street
Ville Platte, LA 70586
Fax: 337-205-5866
Questions email: evangelineso@evangelineparishsheriff.org
Use the email and delivery choices shown on the official EPSO request form.

The EPSO records page says staff process sheriff reports, criminal arrest or summons reports, and vehicle-crash reports. It lists a general report-copy range of $5 to $10 depending on report type. The formal request process provides an estimate before payment and instructs requesters not to send payment until that estimate arrives.

Choose the route that matches the question:

  • For a booking photo, roster entry, arrest record, release window, or request steps, start with the Evangeline Parish booking guide and then use the linked EPSO source.
  • For a warrant question or safe tip route, use Most Wanted Fugitives, then contact EPSO or the clerk through the official channel shown there.
  • For someone just booked or released within the short online window, check EPSO’s current roster and separate 48-hour release page.
  • For a Ville Platte, Mamou, or Pine Prairie police report, contact the named municipal department first; ask whether the person entered city, parish, state, federal, or immigration custody.
  • For a court outcome after booking, contact the Evangeline Parish Clerk of Court or use its 13th Judicial District eSearch route.
  • For a sentenced state prisoner or custody notification, use Louisiana DPS&C inmate information and Louisiana VINE or VINELink.
  • For federal or immigration custody, use the federal Bureau of Prisons locator or ICE Online Detainee Locator, which are separate from the parish roster.

For an emergency, call 911. EPSO warns that its online crime-tip form is not monitored around the clock and that email is not secure for urgent safety information.
